After a long day of flight delays (the schedule said 11:30 the plane took off at 2:45) we finally arrived here in Cancun. The Royal Sunset is a beautiful hotel with a kind a gracious staff. Not sure what the agenda is for the day I just want to relax.
Vacation
March 29, 2008 on 4:20 am | In Personal | 1 CommentLeaving for Cancun this morning. Looking forward to a week in the sun relaxing and enjoying the local fare. The seafood and the fruits are outstanding there. I love how much care goes into the presentation, like the intricately carved watermelon pictured here.
A note to Adam Olsen
March 22, 2008 on 7:09 am | In Graphman Graphics | No CommentsDear Adam,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the HELM.
When I first started looking for a solution to serve files to my Windows network I called a few IT companies to get quotes on a servers. The pricing on all these servers ranged between $9,000 and $13,000. I knew this was more than our small business was able to incur at the time, so I started to look for other options. I searched for coincidently “office appliance” and was delighted to find your website. Your server surpassed the specs of the most expensive machine I was quoted and sold for less than 1/4 of the price.
I have been using the HELM the past 2 and 1/2 years and it has been absolutely reliable. We use The HELM daily as a firewall (to protect our network), as a file server for all our workstations, as a database server, a proxy server ( to limit access to specific internet sites), and now that our developer has moved out of state as a VPN server to give him access to the HELM. Remote desktop client software is also included is to enable us to provide support to all our Windows workstations even when not in the office. All of these features are great, but the single most important feature is the administrative interface which allows even someone with very little knowledge of computers to accomplish advanced tasks (creating users, file shares, IP filtering) like a real System Administrator.
I am continually amazed at the HELM’s performance and reliability. Choosing the HELM over the other offerings has turned out to be one of the best, if not the best IT purchase I have made. I would recommend the HELM to any small business that needs a reliable “hassle free” server for their their Windows Network.
