Dear Paul,
I just came across your article on “careware” while searching for a Linux html editor. I find your philosophy truly refreshing. I plan to not whine as much as that is possible and to make younger people feel more welcome and accepted. I only wish that there were more role models like you and less of the Bill Gates, Rupert Murdoch, and Warren Buffet types. It seems in todays society that most are enamored with the rich and they are idolized, and while some of them give back to society I don’t believe that their’s is the superior philosophy. For this very reason I have been attracted to the Open Source movement. I believe that this is the superior development model as the developers are only worried about solving problems and not the bottom line profits. I thank you for your article.
